Management of critical respiratory patients
We are increasingly aware that COVID-19 is here to stay, at least for an undetermined period of time. Its recurrences will periodically stress the health system, with a greater or lesser impact depending on the health measures established at any given time.
In this context, the mission of the pulmonologist has been reinforced in the management of critically ill patients, whether in specialized units (such as the UCRIs - Intermediate Respiratory Care Unit) or in multidisciplinary settings (emergencies, COVID rooms, etc.) .
Sometimes, the management of these patients is carried out by subspecialized pulmonologists, but very often more medical personnel are required, for whom respiratory support techniques are not as common.
That is why we have designed this course together with pulmonologists specialized in the care of critical patients and especially patients with COVID-19.
We hope it can be useful to you, and above all for our patients.
