Urodynamics Unit Director

In 2013, in a research forum in Functional Urology, (GIFU 2013) a Delphy study was developed on the most important characteristics regarding the performance of studies and creation of urodynamic reports. It was attended by seven experts in the field of Functional Urology, who were members of the SINUG. The result was a “checklist” that could be applied as a “self-audit” for the personal improvement of the techniques and reports of the different Urodynamic units, within the scope of the SINUG. However, in usual practice, this methodology has not had the expected penetration and application, limiting itself to the improvement courses of the SINUG.

Two years later (2015), an email survey was conducted among the Resident Physicians of six Spanish hospitals. In it, there was evidence of the existence of training deficiencies in the field of Urodynamic studies, as well as the need to improve the standardization of Urodynamic teaching and methodology in them. In that survey, the creation of a course by SINUG was noted as a possible action.

In summary, the completion of this course, together with the basic course, will allow you to know in depth what a Urodynamics Unit is, the indications, the layouts and, ultimately, everything you need to organize a Urodynamics Unit with all the guarantees of quality and the endorsement of SINUG and ICS.

To access the Enrollment in this course, it is necessary to have previously passed the basic training course (Operator).

The specific objectives of the course are:

  • Expand up-to-date dissemination on the standards of urodynamic techniques applied in functional urology, providing professionals with precise training to lead, in an accredited manner, a Urodynamic Unit.
  • Homogenize the terminology used in it, from the perspective of current standards developed by scientific societies.
  • Update the student on the urodynamic objectives, findings and interpretation of said urodynamic findings in each of the most prevalent pathologies in functional urology units.
  • Achieve greater homogeneity in the conduct of studies among functional urology units within the SINUG area.
  • Give students the tools for reflection and a critical spirit, so that they can develop in the future an eventual advance in the approach and development of functional urology diagnostic techniques.

The modules that make up the course are:
